2019-2023 Seasons
Our 2019-2020 Season started off as usual, with many fun songs planned for a June 2020 concert that did not take place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In Spring 2020, we had to quickly shift gears to switch to a virtually-only choir. Although we didn’t perform at any events, we did put together a song with pieced-together recordings of choir members singing from home!
In September 2021, we had our first in-person rehearsal since the start of the pandemic. We started offering a Hybrid format so that choir members could choose whether to sing in harmony or sing from home.
In March 2023, we had our “Safe to Be All of Me – 30 Years and Strong” Concert which celebrated our 30th anniversary (2021) & the retirement of long-time Music Director, Chris Peacock. We debuted a new song, “All of Me”, written by singer-songwriter, Pat Mayberry, in collaboration with the choir. You can watch videos of the performance here (nb: the sound recording at our venue failed but thankfully we had some audio recordings from audience members to put together a few songs!).
2018/19 Season
In May 2019, we had our “Loud & Proud” Concert! Special guests “Just Voices” choir joined us for 2 songs and sang 2 of their own songs as well. This concert was also the debut of “Q Kids on the Block”, a spin-off small ensemble made up of 5 members of In Harmony. We also had 3 choir members perform solos/duets. Our new Assistant Choir Director was introduced.
We are having a very busy summer… for August events, please see our Events page!
2017/18 Season
In November 2017, we hosted a casual concert event for friends and family of the choir at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Ottawa, 400 McArthur in Vanier. We performed our own songs and welcomed several special guests.
In June 2018, we joined Just Voices for their Summer Solstice concert. The concert was held at the Ecclesiax church (2 Monk st.) in Ottawa. We enjoyed blending our voices with a new choir and hope to collaborate with them again sometime soon!
And of course, in the summer we marched in the Pride Parade in August.
2016/17 Season
In Harmony had a quiet season from September 2016 to June 2017, recovering from our large 25th Anniversary Concert in 2016. We hosted a Solstice Celebration events for friends and family in December, at which we gathered, sang and ate together.
