In Harmony – A Women’s Choir is a non-auditioning choir that welcomes members who enjoy singing, laughing and learning music in an informal atmosphere.
The choir is comprised of lesbians, queer women, and allies who are dedicated to performing choral music that reflects the richness and diversity of women’s experience. In Harmony – A Women’s Choir was founded in February of 1991 and were originally known as the Ottawa Women’s Chorus. We again changed our name (from “chorus” to “choir” in 2018). The choir performed its first concert in June 1991! In May 2016, we celebrated our 25th Anniversary with a major concert. Over the years, the chorus has performed at many local events.
Our repertoire includes chants, songs of empowerment, traditional, contemporary, show tunes and pop. We also perform choral music in multiple languages.
